Muchofreeo

Hello! I installed Creator NXT and when it finished, I got a message saying there was still a digital download needed! But needed to

restart computer. I restarted, and have tried over 15 times to get this digital download I was told about, But Nothing!!! This is a load of

Crap. My internet connection is perfect, Don't know but think Flexconnect servers are Very Lame!!! I should have never been told there

was a digital download needed, if it wasn't! Just tell me there is something wrong with my internet connection!! This is my 3rd Roxio

Purchase and it might be my LAST! This is a load of Crap!!! I don't even know if it is gonna work like an updated program would!! I might

just have the starter package as far as I know!! Fix yor Flexconnect Server!! It shouldn't take over 5 minutes for an expert to make it say

"NO UPDATES AVALIABLE !!! Don't leave people hanging like this, It's a Very Bad Bussiness Practice!! P.S. I will stick to my NERO

until this problem is fixed!!! Will Give my vender a load of crap tomorrow over this, He swears by ROXIO!!! You are Broken & Need Repair!!

There's an error on our software update server and we are currently looking in to it. Our superior is taking care of this issue and I do hope they fix it as soon as possible.

We do apologize for the inconvenience and I will keep you updated once the server is up and running correctly.

I have tried to check for updates for 3 months and have always received the "Download Failed. Either you are not connected to the internet for the FLEXnet connect servers are currently unavailable.”

I have tried to inquire with Customer Service or Technical Support and have not been able to find a customer friendly way to inquire via email, live chat or phone. Today I called Flexera Software the makers of “FlexNet Connect” at their North America phone number: 800-809-5659 to inquire of them if there was an issue with the “FLEXnet connect servers” and that was why I have not been able to receive any updates.

Flexera Software Technical Support was very nice. They explained that with the bigger companies they did not host the update servers, that they sold the software to those companies who hosted their own update servers. That if they had the updates on their servers he would have given me a link to download any needed update and that I needed to contact Roxio/Corel to obtain any updates.

Now I just find this post that “There's an error on our software update server and we are currently looking in to it. Our superior is taking care of this issue and I do hope they fix it as soon as possible.”

As this issue has been ongoing for at least 10 weeks that I know of I would hope that they work faster to resolve this issue. Also if this is the pop-up message that you receive if you do not need an update, then this is a major issue that needs to be fixed also. If you have the current versions and do not require an update you should receive a pop-up message that your software is up to date.

Please send an email to your customers when this is fixed so they know to check for updates. I would be helpful if a note was listed on the contact support page that was easy to see and not require digging to find.

Now the question remains do I need any updates or not?

Thanks.

You found your way here. Go to the top of the page and click on "Support". Then click on "Software Updates".

Also if there is an update it will be posted to these forums.

Why do you need an update? Are you having problems with something?

So you are telling us that Creator NXT Pro (2013) has been out for almost 1 year, and Microsoft has released a major upgrade to its OS (Win8), and there are *no* updates to any of the many apps included with NXT Pro? I don't believe this to be true since, upon initial installation, I am prompted, "check for updates before installing?" and upon doing so, some updates download, but the install failed. So, the next time I installed without checking for updates. This tells me that there are, in fact, some updated for NXT Pro (2013). Please advise.

I'm having a a hard time believing that someone with a computer degree does't have enough knowledge to understand that updated "drivers" or other compatibility changes (for W8) are not considered an update (patch) to the program.

Did you install W8?

WHY would updates to Win8 automatically require updates to NXT

This is not a chicken/egg situation. NXT runs fine in XP, Vist, Win7 & Win8.

What "update" is needed???

The updates during install involve the Installer as well as the program being installed ;)

Forget it. You people that are questioning the true meaning of "updates" are as uninformed as Clinton saying that it depends on what the definition of "is" is. Consider this: When was the last time that an application was released over a year ago *AND* in that time period a new version of the OS upon which the app runs did not have some kind of update. But...go ahead and sit on your high horses and feel superior. It is history repeating itself. Remember COBOL programmers? Good luck with your answers that are based solely on your egos and have nothing to do with the question at hand.

Tony,

You may believe what you want, and that's fine.

However, I maintain the accuracy of my posts numbers 7, 10, and 12. They state fact, which has nothing to do with my ego.

I used to program in Cobol. What is the relevance of that, please?
