Web Video Capture Won't Stop Loading

dmdoyle

Question

I just upgraded from Roxio 2010 to Roxio NXT (fortunately I can still use Roxio 2010). In Roxio 2010, if I go to 'Roxio Video Copy & Convert' and then select Web Video, the video I play from YouTube will appear as 'Loading'. Shortly after it has finished downloading, the image in 'Web Video' will change to include a check box to select the video for conversion as well as a preview play button. I can then select the video for conversion to the available formats.

When I do the same thing with Roxio NXT, the image in Web Video continues to show as loading (even 5 minutes after the web video has finished downloading), and never presents me with the check box or preview button. I therefore cannot select it for conversion. If I then shut down Roxio NXT, go to Roxio 2010, and go to Web Video, that same video shows up along with the check box and preview button. I return to Roxio NXT, and the videos are still loading!

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks.

Thanks for responding. I did end up installing the latest version of Flash player (another fun story pertaining to the challenges of upgrading that activeX control). This, for the most part, has fixed the issue with the video not finishing loading. I still have better luck with Roxio 2010 (quite a few videos which load in 2010 do not load in NXT), but it is working better than it was.

I so far agree with you that NXT isn't all it is cut out to be. I keep upgrading Roxio, thinking I'm going to get a lot more functionality and features (went from 2009 to 2010 to NXT), but so far I'm unimpressed! I guess I'll keep both 2010 and NXT on my computer to get the most functionality I can, and hopefully have learned not to be suckered in to the NEXT Roxio upgrade.
