Big Ron SD
On my laptop running VISTA OS, I am using the "Roxio easy VHS to DVD" software. I am noticing that in the edit/ save copy the video and audio speeds up or "blips" and "skips" every so often . What could be done to rectify this problem. I tried the 1 hour record time for better quality but no avail. Would the upgrade Easy VHS to DVD 3 help this?
Jim_Hardin
Likely issue would be your laptop... List the specs like Walt & I have in our sig blocks, also include your HDD Free Space. Have you been able to play the Captured file in something else to see if it is intact??? In the EVD Software you might try setting the Rendering to Software as it defaults to Hardware ~ File-Preferences-Render Using-Software

bimicher
sorry, I do not understand when you say "media using" What make of DVD are you using? Did you first capture the video to your hard drive? Does this video play correctly when played with a software player such as Windows Media Player or VLC?
Big Ron SD
I am using HP DVD-R and VERBATIM DVD-R however, my system uses Windows Media and I have a feeling it is corrupt and/or there is a problem with my DVD Drive. I tried playing a commercially made DVD in the drive and there were playback issues yet it played well on the TV. So this might be the key. Will advise on outcome. Thank you

Big Ron SD
OK! Looking forward to hearing more Hi Jim, well after doing many diagnostics on my laptop I have found the cause of my problems. Apparently it is the cd/dvd writer drive. Checking with its manufacturer, I ran their "fix it " program. Everything is ok BUT it only checked for drivers. They are up to date. It was through "E-how" and Microsoft that the error was found. All the files for Roxio VHS to DVD were fine. It was the files for the cd.dvd writer player that were corrupt and some were missing. So, since I could not reinstall my system at this time, I purchased a USB read/write cd/dvd. All the problems disappeared and the VHS TO DVD transfers went AOK. Beautiful and exellent quality. So now we have a happy ending. I thank you for your guidance. Ron
Jim_Hardin
Good to hear you got it running... Yes those laptop drives do seem to fail a little more often than the 'bricks' that fit the desktops
