jewellbox
I have just installed Creator NXT on my HP Pavilion p6 computer using Windows 7. I have 8GB of memory and 1 Terobyte of hard drive. When I open Creator NXT and click to create a DVD, the first screen opens, but when I try to do anything else like change the movie background, add a title, or add photos to the project, the screen fades out and the program just hangs until I go to the task manager and close it out. There is no error message. there is just nothing but the circle that shows the program is trying to open. Then nothing but a ding when I attempt to click on any part of the program. Jim_Hardin
It broke and needs you to repair it... First thing to do is to turn off your Anti Virus, Firewalls, Registry Cleaners, etc. Now insert your Roxio Disc. Be sure you accept the offer to Check for Updates (this is for Roxio, not Windows) When you reach the screen where Repair is offered, choose that! When the Repair competes, turn your AV & Firewall back on and reboot.
jewellbox
Oh how I wish that had been the answer. I did exactly as you recommended and still have the same result. Either the program freezes when I try to add pictures to a DVD project, or I get a runtime error if I try to add pictures to a slide show. the problem seems to be with accessing pictures. Can you add anything to the myDVD project such as a video or a jpg file? Does the same thing happen when you use Videowave?
jewellbox
the only thing I can do with this program (Creator NXT) is burn. When I try to create anything in the DVD project, whether it's add audio or add pictures, the program freezes and says it has to close. I can only get as far as choosing a DVD project. the home screen opens, and anything i try to do from that point on freezes the program. I so appreciate your sticking with me on this. I just followed the repair steps again 3x with no change in the result. I can get pictures in Videowave, but when I try to save the project, I get a runtime error, and the project closes with no save possible!
Fr Time
I, too, would like to see a reply to this topic. I started out on an older version of Creator on Windows XP on an older Pentium dual core. It always froze up. I was advised to get everything current. I now have Creator NXT on Windows 8 on a quad core HP just made this year. It still hangs up. What is the issue? I have friends that swear by Roxio Creator. It's useless junk to me!

Jim_Hardin
I normally falls into 3 areas or a combination of them... 99.99% Source File 99.98% Program Corruption under 30% PC issue It is hard to do much to test the first one, so we jump to the first runner up
Fr Time
What happened when you followed the advice in Post #2 of this thread? Tried repairing 3 times. Same thing, it fails. Examples of failures: once I create any chapters, it locks up when I go to click on any of the chapters or if I go straight to burning an MPeg to DVD, it locks up. It really is quite frustrating! You should start your own thread since it now seems obvious that your problem is different from the original poster. Explain exactly what you are doing with the chapters. What do you mean "click on any of the chapters"? Can you create avideo file (ignore chapters and burning for the moment)
