Trouble Connecting To Pc Monitor

Jaysonw23

Question

I am trying to use the Gamecap HD Pro to record from my xbox. I have the HDMI cable going from my xbox to HDMI IN on the device, then an HDMI to DVI cable going from HDMI OUT to my monitor. But the monitor keeps saying "no signal". Im wondering if the devide will work with an HDMI to DVI cable, or what the problem could be. The device was plugged in via usb to my desktop. I also had no picture in the included software. Any ideas?

I got it all hooked up to a monitor with hdmi inputs and it all works. The only issue is i have a lot of red, green, and blue dots all over the screen. I used both hdmi cables without the device and they both work fine, but with the RGC in the middle i get the dots.

My only options on this monitor are VGA and DVI. And the monitor is not HDCP compliant, so that explains that issue. I'm probably just going to get a monitor with an hdmi input.

Borrow one if you can just to make sure it is going to work for you before plunking down the money to buy another one ;)

If you also had no picture in the software preview window then you have bigger issues than no picture on the tv.

Two possible issues with your output...

One is that the HDMI to DVI has been hit or miss... Sometimes is it the DVI, there are 5 variations in the "DVI Standard", and yours must match what your TV needs ;)

IF that same cable works when connected directly to the TV then you might be getting a HDCP signal issue... The TV must be HDCP compliant, can't be fixed! (does it have any other input choice?)
