Error 8004520C

Question

I am trying to burn a DVD of multiple movies (MPs) in Roxio Creator 2012 Pro and keep getting error 8004520c (Error while encoding movie). I looked up the error in Roxio but the options provided keep returning the same error. Any idea what could be causing it?

I am on Windows 7 Professional.

Tks,

Maria

Did you try to encode to an ISO file or to a folder set? What happened? If you can't do that usually there is a problem with one or more of your video files. Where did you get them?

What application in the Suite of programs are you trying to use?

Hi Digi Guru. Thanks for the feedback. Yes, I tried both...changing to ISO and to folder set. I got the same error. I got the videos from my Canon Camcorder directly. Perhaps there is something happening during the transfer stage. I'll try burning the videos onto my computer hard drive first and then creating the movie to see if that fixes the problem. Tks. Maria.

Which camcorder with a memory stick, hard drive or memory cared, simply copy the files to a folder on your computer. If it is a tape, you must capture the video using a firewire connection.

Its a camcorder with internal memory. The only way to get it out is with a usb cable connected to the computer. I was adding the files directly onto Roxio using the USB connection from the camcorder...I was not downloading the files onto my computer, so I think that might be causing the issues. I'll try doing the latter and let you know if it works. Tks again.

It is always best to first copy the video from the camcorder to your hard drive (you can then also put the camcorder away).

How long in time is the video you are trying to put on a DVD? What is the make/model of the camcorder?
