That error decodes as "6 / 28 / 00 NOT READY TO READY CHANGE, MEDIUM MAY HAVE CHANGED", whatever that might mean.

The table I was looking at http://www.cdr-zone.com/articles/atapi_error_codes_page_1.html seems to suggest that your drive is suddenly getting a reading as if a different disc has been inserted. I've not seen a report of this error previously. Your burner drive may be going faulty.

Have you some other software you can test the drive with? If nothing else, the free program ImgBurn [look it up on the internet] should allow you to burn a test disc. That will tell you if your drive is faulty, or it's trouble with Creator.

Brendon

Thanks for your help!

I didn't read your post until today cuz I think an email would be sent to me when someone reply my topic.

Imgburn is great!

I bought some discs from two different producers today.

The creator failed again, but Imgburn succeed at last after it failed once too.

There might be problems with the driver or creator or some of the discs, or all.Imgburn saved it.

Thanks again.

If Creator always fails while ImgBurn always succeeds, then I'd suspect there's something wrong with your free version of Creator.

However where ImgBurn has failed once that would suggest that the performance of your burner is a bit ragged.

Age and dust are the enemies of these things. You can't do much apart from replacing a worn-out drive, but it would be worthwhile to check and clean the laser unit of your drive.

Open the CD drawer of your laptop and you should see the small laser lens facing upwards. [marked in red box] Because the lens faces up they often get a layer of dust over time.

Dust getting on that lens will disturb reading and writing. The lens can be cleaned by blowing dust off with air from a can of compressed air, or by a very gentle brush with a soft camel-hair brush - the sort that's used for cleaning camera lenses. It is extremely fragile because it's on delicate mountings, so if in doubt get a proper serviceman to do it.
