Ed It doesn't work because of changes that YouTube has made over the last year or so. Roxio/Corel has made no attempt to fix it. A competitive program also had issues but those were fixed. FireFox has an add in that seems to work well. Open FireFox and look for it.
winnn
Hi Sknis, What are the competitive programs? Where to look for in FireFox? (I don't have FireFox. Is this to downloadable? I have Google Chrome. Does it work too?) Thank you.
sknis
Hi Sknis, What are the competitive programs? Where to look for in FireFox? (I don't have FireFox. Is this to downloadable? I have Google Chrome. Does it work too?) Thank you. You are kidding about me posting a competitive program on this Roxio/Corel sponsored web forum aren't you? Firefox is a free browser from Mozilla. You can have several browsers on your computer at the same time (I have 4 and they do not interfere with each other). The add-on is for Firefox only. Download and install it, go to tools, add-ons, extensions. Search for it (upper right corner of the page). It is called "Easy You Tube Video Downloader". Be aware that NOT ALL Youtube videos are downloadable. Some are restricted.

The program is broken because YouTube keeps changing things. I doubt that it will ever get fixed and stay fixed.

Perhaps a little language problem. The Roxio program will NOT work to capture YouTube Videos. What we have been tryign to present is a alternative means of saving videos. Open Firefox, go to tools, add-ons, extensions. Search for it (upper right corner of the page). It is called "Easy You Tube Video Downloader". Now go to YouTube and you will see the option to download/save the video. Remember NOT ALL videos can be downloaded and saved. Does that work? Edit: I looked at Firefox add-ons and now there are several related to YouTube to chose from.

winnn
How could I convert mp4 to mp3/or m4a? I know this is not for this thread but cannot find any place to create new thread. Pls tell me where to go if this question is not appropriate here. Roxio, to be honest, makes things so difficult.

All of the sudden, it stopped downloading. There was a renewal of Norton Antivirus between 'able to do' and 'unable to do'. Would you give me any advice? Thanks, winnn It is not quite clear what you were using to download the You Tube video that stopped working. 1) Tell Norton about it. 2) Pause or turn off your antivirus while downloading. 3) A couple of day ago, I found that the free 'Any Video Converter" will download Youtube videos all you have to do is to give it the YouTube URL of the video you want to download. Look at the upper right of that program windows to watch the progress. Are you trying to extract the audio for the mp4 video? It may be copyright protected. Are they from VEVO You Tube videos? If so, read the YouTube restrictions. If you determine that the audio is NOT copyright protected, come back and I will offer suggestions.
