oldphotos
I have an old time photo business. I have used roxio for years. but the last 3 versions that I have tried (2011, 2012, nxt) have ALL been shutting down when I get my photos ready to print This is costing me Way to much time, & time is money, LOST money. Can't find a phone # for any tech support. No one answers my on line questions. I have tried MANY MANY other photo programs but they are not user friendly or they take way to much time to get my end result. PLEASE HELP!! sknis
Sorry but if three different versions are giving you issues, you may want to look at something else giving you the problem.. Just to make sure, please provide us with the information on your computer. It gives us a baseline from which to work. I'm not saying it is your problem but it is a place to start looking. What antivirus are you using? Did you always turn it off when you installed the program? It sounds like there may be an issue with some Windows required add-ons. Read this and do what it says (especially about Windows updated to .net and msxml. Put the disc back into your computer with the antivirus off and try repairing the program. If the photo editing program is so important to you, why didn't you come here when you started to use Creator 2011? Have you tried the Corel image editing program -Paint Shop Pro? DO you get the same problem? Does the program shut down when the photo is ready to print or before that? Are you getting any error messages? Look at your Windows event logs to see if there is any information there. Type in log in the search box and select to open the even logs, look for the applications tabs/list. Try that before you start spending money for tech support.

Are you using the registry cleaner in System Mechanic; don't, registry cleaners benefit only those who see them. How about the rest of the questions/ suggestions? Please don't make me keep asking for the information requested. Do you see anything in the logs?
oldphotos
I'm NOT a computer guru. Window required add-ons? Windows updated to net & msxmi?? What logs? I'm 63 trying to keep up with these #$^@ computers and all their changes! Honestly? Roxio has the worst tech help I've ever used. I tried many times and got No response. And I guess it's impossible to speak to real person that could walk me through all of this technical bullshit. When you buy all of these software programs, you expect them to work. Especially a simple photo editing program.

Especially a simple photo editing program. First off, I am a lot older than you ! But I do try and read. Did you know that the blue text in my reply was a link to the instructions? Can you follow them? As for the logs, just go to Windows search and type in "log". You will get several hits. Select the activity log for control panel. A screen will open. It will look like this: Select the application log, scroll down to find the errors and find a couple o them. If one refers to Roxio or Sonic, post that information here. If one refers to something else, post that but don't be surprosed if we tell you it is somethign esle on your computer that is screwed up. You are welcome to contract Roxio/Corel Tech support. We are just trying to save you money ! If you enter the information requested, you should have a response in the specified time frame. If you are out of the 15 day support, you must pay for technical support. Read this.
oldphotos
this error is what I found: event 10 wmi, event filter with query "SELECT*FROM_InstanceModificationEvent WITHIN 60 WHERE TargetInstance ISA"Win32_Processor"AND TargetInstance.LoadPercentage>99" could not be reactivated in namespace "//./root/CIMV2" because of error 0x80041003. Events cannot be delivered through this filter until the problem can be corrected. Does this help?
oldphotos
I don't mind paying for the support. But I want to pay for it to fix my main computer at work. I've got a new hp envy desktop with the roxio nxt. That is the one I desperately need fixed. This a brand new computer...and brand new roxio...how can it already have problems? Do I need to disable the windows firewall and the webroot virus protection?
sknis
Is that on the Vista machine. I googled for it and found one interesting thread that was the exact same error. In that case it was caused by a filed update to Vista. Do you remember anything along that line? I'm not on a pc at the moment but go to microsoft support and read KB number 950375. That talks about the error and gives you a solution. I don't have the ability to easily search for a similar article for a Windows 7 machine. Is it the same error message? I found it, look for support.microsoft.com/kb/2545227. By a quick read, I don't think this is the problem, look at others listed errors that might be more related to the issue. Report back ! oldphotos
no I'm using my home computer & it is windows 7 this is the one that i got this error on (creator 2011).I had to revert back to vista for work because was having problems w/windows 7 not taking my identical hp printers that were quite old but very good printers.(vista & creator 2012) Since I've had so many problems w/ updating windows & using my older printers I decided to start from scratch....hp envy desktop, windows 8 & new photosmart printers, & roxio nxt.To my disappointment roxio is still shutting down when I try to send my edited photo to my printers. I'm about to look up the info that you sent. thanks
