No Content In Task Bar

Sylv

Question

Can anyone help me. I have Roxio Creator 10 and it has worked fine for years. However, I haven't used it for six months. I have just called up a project I was working on and went to put in a few more transitions in and when when I click on the task bar to add the transition, it says, no content in this box. It also has no content in the text box or any of the boxes in the task bar. Can anyone help? Thanks.

In order to give you better advice, we need to confirm what you actually have. There are three possibilities -- Creator 2010 (a couple of years old), Easy Media Creator 10 (many years older) or an OEM piece of software like Creator 10.x DE or SE.

Do you use a registry cleaner -- don't. Have you tried to reinstall/repair the software? It was probably too long ago that something changed so a Windows Restore probably won't help.

Hi, thanks for replying. I am using the Creator Pro 2010. I haven't actually used the whole computer for six months, been away. YES!! I did do a registry clean before I left! Really can this effect the Roxio?? I don't usually use them but my computer was running a little slow before I left and it seemed to fix the problem.

I have not as yet tried to reinstall the software as I am going to upgrade to the 2012 but just wanted to finish this project off in the mean time. Do you think I could do a system restore as I have not been using the computer or would the registry clean have killed that off. Thanks again.

The restore is what I would try first since it is easy and since you have not been using the computer. Registry Cleaners have, in the past, screwed up the Roxio software. I don't know if that is the problem with yours.

Suggestion: If you want to delete old programs you no longer use, try using the FREE Revo Uninstaller in the MODERATE MODE. It will use the built in uninstaller and then offer the option to delete only the registry entries and folders that are SAFE to uninstall. I know of one other person who side that it gave with problems but the problem he described could not be related to the use of the program.

If you try repairing Creator 2010 (a couple of times) and it doesn't fix the problem. Use Revo and then re install the program.

Hi again. I managed to do a system restore and it seemed to work. I have now been able to finish my project yay!

I am about to purchase the Roxio New Creator NXT Pro for £85.00 on the Roxio site. Can you tell me how to safely remove the Roxio Creator 2010 from my computer before I install the new one. I really do not want any problems with not "UNINSTALLING" correctly.

I have a Windows Vista Desktop (Service Pack 2)

Intel ® Core 2 Quad CPU

Q9400 @ 2.66Ghz 2.67Ghz

Memory 4.00 GB

64 - bit Operating System

Thanks again for your kind help. Sylvia
