Charley D
When I open Roxio, either from All Programs or Desktop, it starts to open then creates an icon in the Taskbar but the program never opens. Any ideas why?

Mary Beth
I am having the same exact problem. Called support team and they had me disable programs from the task bar start up. That did not fix the problem and now they are closed. Was hoping for a solution today will be leaving on vacation and tech support will run out. Please let me know if you find a solution. I have Windows 8 what about you? Mary Beth

Jim_Hardin
Why not try a proper repair? First thing to do is to turn off your Anti Virus, Firewalls, Registry Cleaners, etc. Now insert your Roxio Disc. Be sure you accept the offer to Check for Updates (this is for Roxio, not Windows) When you reach the screen where Repair is offered, choose that! When the Repair competes, turn your AV & Firewall back on and reboot.
Mary Beth
Followed your instructions and still no luck. Thought it was going to work at first because the program starts to load, but then stops. No error message or anything. Icon on the bottom pops up and if I hover over it I can see the home page of the program, but it will not open and run. Any other suggestions? Thanks for your input
Mary Beth
Ok Perhaps I have no business on a computer. I figured it out. If I hover over icon on bottom and then hover over pop up above and then maximize that it's there......all along. I have never had a program need to open that way?? How's that Windows 8 working out for you? Windows 8, or not, it shouldn't be doing that, unless there is some setting in Windows 8 that is causing it. There are others running Windows 8, who don't have that happening.
Mary Beth
Windows 8 has not been kind to me yet! And its not just the "look" of tiles that makes me crazy..... I could care less about the changes in looks. The lack of DVD movie maker (hence need for Roxio creator) and Dell Techs working on my not broken computer for days before figuring that I needed Pro pack just about did me in. Charms that continually jump out at me is another nuisance. Just to name a few of many. Time I will never get back. I'll add this to the list. Thanks for all your help. Right Click on the NXT Icon and select Properties! (you may have to do this within the Start Menu and not on the Taskbar) Under the Shortcut tab, make sure that the Run setting is set to Normal Window and not minimizedd:
