cd spin doctor sees only 24-bit from sound card and will not record properly

I'm using an m-audio sound card, which supports 16-bit, as an input to CD spin doctor. However, on the record quality drop down menu I see only 24 bit. As a result (I think), although I can hear the input properly, CD spin doctor records a completely unusable signal. Any ideas?

Open Audio Midi Setup in the Mac's Utilities folder. You should be able to set the input bit rate for your card there.
