How Does One Create An Audio Cd From A Commercial Cd And Edit Out Applause?

I have a commercial CD which includes applause at the end of each track. Please could you tell me how to create an audio CD from this commercial one, of equal sound quality and how to edit out the applause at the end of each track?

Rip the audio CD to the hard drive as a wav file, split out every track and edit it in Sound Editor, save them and re-burn all the edited tracks as a audio CD.
