Roxio Game Capture Hd Pro - Not Working

gnovelli

Question

Hello

I bought the Roxio Game capture HD PRO and I am experiencing a lot of troubles.

First of all, the button of "Live capture" is not working. It stays gray...

The status its always "no signal", but I can see the hardware on Device Manager.

In hardware, the HDMI light is always on.

To make sure I am not doing nothing wrong, I'll specify my steps:

I connected the Roxio device on USB Port (Windows regonized it);

I install software;

I Conect HDMI cable in Input and the other side of cable I plugged on out of my

another device (game, notebook out, etc);

Open program;

Here is my Notebook (Roxio device plugged notebook) specs:

Dell Inspiron 1525

Intel Core2Duo

RAM 2GB

Intel 965 Express Chipset Family

OS - Windows 7 Ultimate 32bits.

I hope you can help me.

Keep in touch

Glauco

Hi, I am also having this exact same issue.

Are you trying to record games from a PC to a laptop?

Also do you get a picture on your monitor?

I dont even get an image on my monitor but when I test other HDMI devices it works fine.

Even the "Guru" can't give me an answer to my issues.

I notice on my PC I am playing the games on has 2x HDMI ports 1 on the GPU and 1 on board. I also have a CPU which has an iGPU but my understanding tells me this is disabled when you use an expansion GPU on PCI-E.

I think that is the same rule for the on board HDMI.

I am coming to the conclusion it seems to be a compatability issue between the GPU and the Roxio device in what it supports.

No one seems to know and I have run out of ideas.

I would try reinstalling the software. Keep the Gamecap unplugged.

First go to device manager and uninstall the Roxio Gamecap HD Pro device. I think it's under display adapter category. Then put in the Roxio CD and uninstall the software. After that, reinstall it (don't plug in the device yet). After it is installed, restart your computer. Then plug the Gamecap into your computer with USB, then plug the HDMI devices into it and run the capture software.

If it still doesn't work I'm not quite sure what the cause is... I had this problem at one point and reinstalling and fiddling around with how things were plugged in fixed it for me.

I have tried all these steps myself and the device some some strange reason comes under SOUND devices in device manager.

My issues are being I dont even get a signal to my monitor so I can only think its a compatability or some sort of signal issue between the PC's GPU and the Roxio Device.

As Stated I have tried another source ie. a BD Player and this brings a signal to the monitor straight away.

I don't know then. Seems people are having more issues trying to capture directly from a PC which I don't fully understand, HDMI signal shouldn't matter where it comes from as long as it doesn't have HDCP which a GPU would not.

Sorry :( i wish i knew how to help

I have seen videos on youtube but they are using Nvidia GPU's so I am sure its a compatability isue to my model of ATI card atleast. Only thing that makes sense, It is something Roxio need to look in to and release a FW update for the device.

The only other thing I can think to try is to get a DVI to HDMI converter and use the DVI port instead.

I know some other products include these devices with theres so it must work. The only issue then is audio....... oh joys.

Those adapters are not a sure thing, as many will attest!!!

Doing that is also going to introduce yet another variable into this. Keep it in mind but not at the moment ;)
