With the USB Device plugged in open device manager and expand sound video and game controllers and other devices.

Now take a screen shot and attach it to a post here.

Let's try a proper repair but following these exact steps:

First thing to do is to turn off your Anti Virus, Firewalls, Registry Cleaners, etc.

Unplug your Roxio Capture USB Device and put it aside until you are completely finished.

Now insert your Roxio Disc.

Be sure you accept the offer to Check for Updates (this is for Roxio, not Windows)

When you reach the screen where
Repair
is offered, choose that!

When the Repair competes, turn your AV & Firewall back on and reboot.

Edit: Opps ~ tie!

Actually I have done this and it will install the proper drivers...

Give it a try and see if you can confirm that or I need to revisit it

It's never worked for me unless you uninstall the wrong drivers from device manager first?

Always have the usb device connected to the PC as short as possible, no extended USB cables or extenders.

Right click delete/uninstall it 'legacy video capture device'.

Does the software open and work now?

If not follow Jim Hardin's repair outlined in post #3 to the 'T'.
