Spin Doctor With 10.7.5

RollingT

Question

I see posts about the problems with 10.8 but I am trying to run on 10.7.5 and am having problems. When I open Spin Doctor I do not get the page shown in the manual, instead I get a blank untitled page. Then if i go to File>New I get an untitled2 page with "select recording source from the list on the left". Selecting "Built in input" does allow recording but only only one waveform is shown, not the page expected from the manual description. Please help. I used Spin Doctor very successfully way back when, 7 I believe, but can't get it to work now.

I'm sorry, but Spin Doctor X doesn't work even with OS 10.7. If you had Toast 10 the version of Spin Doctor that came with it sort of works but also has problems. I suggest the freeware Audacity. If it is unable to mark and separate tracks in the AIFF file use the freeware Final Vinyl for that process.

Thanks for the info. Is not Roxio committing fraud? Trying to get through to them is extremely frustrating. Should have known better.

My opinion is Spin Doctor never should have been included in the Toast 11 bundle because it was far from finished upon release. There was one quick update and development stopped. I don't know why it wasn't pulled when they realized it wasn't working and had no plans to fix it. Fraud would be hard to claim because I expect they view Spin Doctor as a freebie tossed in with the purchase of Toast. Still, it is not honest to claim it is usable. It never fully worked and became less and less functional with Apple's OS updates.

New user and new to discussion. I too have the same issues with having been sold on the five add on programs only to fine out that it doesn't work with OS 10.8.

Sorry you had to find out this way. Not to make excuses for Roxio but the System Requirements they post on the Toast 11 product page says Toast 11 works with 10.5, 10.6 & 10.7 and that system audio capture (part of Spin Doctor) does not work in 10.7. However, everything except Spin Doctor does work with 10.8 when updated to Toast 11.1 (1072). I have a post pinned near the top of the forum that also indicates some free updates available to a couple of the non-Roxio apps included in the bundle.

I think there were bigger plans but when Corel purchased Roxio from Sonic everything got scuttled except for completing the Toast 11.1 update.
