Videos Not Showing Up On Editing Screen

so today I recorded a sweet 27-0 gameplay and I decided to edit it after I recorded. But I selected the video and clicked add video. I found my video and clicked open but the video only showed up on the panel on the editing screen not the big black screen where you edit please help me thank you! The file you added has a DIVX extension, however not all that many files actually carry that extension...

 

Where did it come from?

 

Have you used it anywhere before this?

 

Also, shift to Timeline View so you can move the scrubber around in the timeline.

 

I am a little concerned too that so many of your Tool and Add Content icons are blanked out.
