I Have No Input. At All.

Keltboy

Question

I currently have my PC hooked up to record from my Xbox at the moment. All of the wires are in the correct places. I turn on my xbox, load up the capture section and ... nothing. All I get is the interface doing nothing.

As you can see in the picture, I have no chooseable option for source or settings. I've tried uninstall/re-install, I've tried nearly all the suggestions on how to get this fixed, to no avail. Those two options never pop up.

I believe it's something to do with the box or the wire from the box to the PC because, somewhat ironically, I get source and settings when I remove the PC cable. Also, the holes where I place the cables are loose, to the point where I have to tape them to the box to get them to stick in.

Now, i've had this roxio unit for around two years, but I didn't get to use it for a year because of technical issues with my old PC. It never got out of the box during that time. Then I got my new PC, and got it working. For around 2 weeks, then it just stopped, and hasn't worked for the past 9 months!

so, here are my questions:

1) Is there any solution to fix this without dissembling the capture box?

IF NO TO 1:

2) Does taking apart the capture box null+void any policies attached to it?

IF YES TO 2:

3) Can someone tell me how to ask for a refund/replacement because of "shoddy build quality".

ok, just checked that above forum, the two roxio unit in that catergory didn't show up. Still, looks like I need the drivers for it to work.

So, where can I download the drivers from, because installing the disc give me no options to do with drivers?

The drivers are installed automatically, by the software, but you install the software BEFORE you plug the game capture into your computer.

Yes, I know that. I have done this before. I got it working for about two weeks when I first used it. Then, Roxio crashed my entire PC (it had only forced closed on me once before that), and when I booted it back up, the driver had disappeared.

Now (or rather for the past 10 MONTHS) whenever I try and get this system to work, I removed all wires from my PC and the box, then I uninstall>reboot>install>reboot>plug all wires back in. And every time I do this, it never pops up with a box or anything saying about drivers being installed (I know that it does pop up with a box in Windows 7 when any driver is installed, and one of the devices I use for managing drivers will auto open and display the incoming driver, which it did not for Roxio)
