Unable To Open Roxio Creator 12.

Question

Hi, I am having a problem opening my Roxio Creator 12. Everything had been working fine.

Then as I was adding films to my menu before burning. suddenly the whole screen froze.

I tried using my task manager to close it down but nothing was happening. Eventually I had to do something that I dont like doing and that was switching my computer off manually. On starting up my computer and clicking on my Roxio Icon an error message appeared saying " Roxio Creator has encountered a problem and needs to close down" I have tried several things to stop this including uninstalling Roxio and then re-installiing it again, but this has made no difference and the same error message keeps popping up when I click on the Roxio Icon. I have tried ruuning my security software just in case there is virus but this has made no difference either. I would like to have copied the contents of the error message and included this in the message but I am afraid I am not sure how this is done if in fact it can be done. Hope you can help. Thank you.

It may have something to do with an update on your computer that you are not aware of

I would suggest 2 steps to try...

1. Rollback to a time point where things Were Working.

2. A clean install at that point, following these steps:

First thing to do is to turn off your Anti Virus, Firewalls, Registry Cleaners, etc.

Now insert your Roxio Disc.

Be sure you accept the offer to Check for Updates (this is for Roxio, not Windows)

When the Install competes, turn your AV & Firewall back on and reboot.

Hi, Thanks very much for your quick reply to my question. I am pleased to report that it appears to have resolved the problem. I dont know why I did not think about taking it back to a restore point before the problem, since I always use this facility when when my computer gets a virus. Thanks very much for your help it is greatly appreciated.
