Error While Burning Dvd

Almost (but not quite) always when I am copying a DVD using NXT the program stops halfway through the process and delivers the message "There was a problem writing to the disc". This happens whether or not I have saved an image of the file first. The failed discs are all brand new. The DVDs to be copied have no protection, usually being my own recordings.

 

The detailed error message this latest time was:

Can anyone help? Is it a fault with the R/W drive?

Power calibration area error

 

 

There are many cases where there is a problem with the disc, or information cannot be retrieved from the disc properly. The PC may be unstable or try a new disc.

The (source) disc plays perfectly, and NXT completes making an image before starting to burn the copy, so I do not think there is any problem with the source disc. I've tried writing to many new discs straight out of the box. That leaves your suggestion of an unstable PC - can you elaborate?

Get a good brand, such as Verbatim (Singapore) or Taiyo Yuden (JVC)!

What brand of disc's are you using? -R +R or RW?

 

At what speed are you writing to the disc's?
