shortskatr
I should also have said the sound and capture is recognized in my devices,,and says working properly on the no picture or sound computer,, and on the green faces issue It would play a dvd with no color issues and some vhs tapes would have less green then others and I took a short clip from computer to try advanced settings,,and the improve colour option did not get rid of the green or any option it comes with.. Jim_Hardin
But you never told us WHAT you are hooking up FROM, and HOW Pay close attention to what it says where you are connecting... (some can look scary) And please confirm you are using the EVD 3 Software/USB Device and not an earlier version
shortskatr
Thanks for the reply,, For the windows 8 computer / green, I had it hooked up with the 3 rca's,,I was going from a dvd vcr combo unit at first,,and then I tried a vhs player, Hitachi and it seemed to have less green discoloration,,so I am using the straight Vhs player for the second computer as well,,I do have EVD 3 plus pro,,Only about a month old,,and I know the cords are hooked up right and working because the first computer had everything working,,just the color changing going on,,Thanks for your time Jim.. shortskatr
Also on the second computer/ Xp,, if I chose online support through the program the program crashes,,is that a normal thing?
Jim_Hardin
I am not going to try to troubleshoot 2 pc's at the same time, Pick ONE! General... no program should crash! If it does, it is no longer installed correctly (corrupted)... Combo unit often have to be Set within the unit menu for the output you can use. IF you are using Commercial Tapes, things like Macro Vision will cause color shifts but they are usually an In & Out effect.
shortskatr
Lol,,That sounds fair,, I will pick the windows 8 desktop with the color issue,,as it is much further ahead then the xp desktop,,I had the combo unit running with the 3 rca's,, I tried multiple tapes like jungle to jungle (disney) A older movie with not as much color and it seemed to have very few discolorations,, These were all store bought vhs's,, Is there a way to tell if it's macro vision? By the company maybe ? This is like even in the credits,, one name on the top would go green for a few seconds,, That sounds about right like it is a in and out effect,, So would a pre recorded vhs / blank tape be a more solid video to go off of,, I think you solved the problem,, I tried a disney cartoon as well and it had less discoloration,,but still more then the old movie i tried,,Also I did switch the source on the vcr to dvd,,Watched the dvd and it had a perfect picture,, The dvd would work through a s video cable as well,,Then I try the vcr side with a s video and it just reads a toshiba picture,,which is the make of the vcr/dvd combo.. Jim_Hardin
I had one of those on Laser Disc There is some question as to the legality of copying Commercial Tapes... So I don't really want to go into that! But for your home movies, one thing I would double check is that you are using Composite outputs from the VCR (Y/W/R) and not Component (PR, PB & Y) by mistake
