Video Wave Shuts Down Error

Question

I just installed Creater NXT for my Windows 8 64-bit system on my ASUS Laptop. My Laptop is running a Core i7 chip, 6gb of memory and Nvidia GeForce GT540M Cuda with 1gb of ram. Everything works fine except Video Wave! I click on edit video and it loads up the start screen but then it will stop and the windows error dialog that says " VideoWave has stopped working: A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available." Whats the deal? I tried uninstalling the software along with any antivirus software I have and still nothing. I cleaned up any registry errors, defragged my comp, ran antivirus on my comp, uninstalled any antivirus software and tried to run windows update. I think I'm on the 5th reinstall because I've been trying different things out but I'm worried I might use up the installation limit. I can't call for technical support which is bogus. What should I do? I got Creater NXT because of the video editing software along with the burner software.

You Registry Cleaner is probably your problem... They tend to break more than they ever fix :D

Try a Proper Repair:

First thing to do is to turn off your Anti Virus, Firewalls, Registry Cleaners, etc.

Now insert your Roxio Disc.

Be sure you accept the offer to Check for Updates (this is for Roxio, not Windows)

When you reach the screen where
Repair
is offered, choose that!

When the Repair competes, turn your AV & Firewall back on and reboot.

Sometimes it takes up to 3 trys ;)

I tried it three more times then I installed revo uninstaller I removed it completely out of my system. Made sure I turned off the antivirus and the firewall, then reinstalled everything... and still no VideoWave. I don't know what to do anymore besides resetting my laptop to factory which I really don't want to do. I have spent over 10 hours downloading, installing, repairing, removing and cleaning, this is very frustrating.

OK then let's skip to the last try method ;)

This is extensive, but it what I suggest...

Unplug your RGC Device and put it aside until you are completely finished.

Download and install the
Uninstaller. Then run it in
Moderate Mode
to remove any traces of Roxio. (you said you already have it)

Turn OFF any A/V & Firewall.

Reboot and log on to that new account.

Copy your entire disc to a new folder on your HDD.

In that new folder, right click on Setup.exe and select Properties.

Under the Compatibility tab, make sure
nothing
is checked!

Right click Setup.exe and select Open.

Allow it to Check for Updates (this is for Roxio not Windows)

Use the Default Locations!

I never got the physical disc from Roxio, I only got the download version. I'm not using a RGC device on my laptop I'm using Roxio VHS to DVD 3 to capture old home VHS videos. I already copied them to my hard drive so I'm not using the device on my computer anymore I just need to edit them. I got Roxio Creator NXT because of VideoWave since it was compatible with Roxio VHS to DVD 3. I had already done the Revo Uninstaller but I did it on advanced. I really appreciate you helping me out.
