Any Ideas about what is going on? I just cannot imagine... What you are seeing is normal and nothing strange at all. File size is almost meaningless when burning DVDs. A standard video DVD at best quality has a resolution of 720x480 (for NTSC and 720x576 for PAL) and a bitrate around 8000. All source material has to be converted to this standard. So if you source video is highly compressed it will have to be re-rendered to the DVD mpeg format and this may expand or contract the video file size.
