Avchd Format No Longer Recognised

J_L

Question

I have been experiencing some problems with the AVCHD functionality on Toast 11 Pro. Previously I have been archiving video as AVCHD and later on burning HD Blu Rays. Everything was working perfectly! All of a sudden, this functionality has stopped working. It seems to have coincided with upgrading to Mountain Lion 10.8.4 (could be unrelated but a bit of a coincidence). Every time I drag and drop an AVCHD file I am told the file is in an unsupported format and cannot be imported.

Has anyone experienced the same and/or have a solution? Perhaps I'm missing something obvious, it is like the HD plugin is not recognised?

Many Thanks

John

That shouldn't be happening. I suggest trashing the Toast plist and prefs files in your User>Library>Preferences folder and relaunching Toast. You access your User Library by holding down the Option key when selecting the Go menu in the Finder.

Hi, this is exactly the problem that I am having on my MacPro! The problem is that I am not able to find the specific toast plist and prefs files you refer to above in my user library. Not sure why. Could you maybe be a bit more specific as to how to access? Thx in advance.

To access your user library hold down the option key while selecting the Go menu in the Finder. It's easiest for me to choose the list view for the Finder window and enter Toast in the window that appears.

I have same problem... I bought the plugin way back in 2012 too but it no longer works with Toast 12.1.

Dumped prefs, still no good, doesn't recognize it. I have to view ACHVD package contents and drag the MTS files manually to the Toast window.

???

Am I doing something wrong?

The Blu-Ray plugin from Toast 11 should work and be active with Toast 12 without doing anything. Toast will not see inside a AVCHD package, as you have found. I think that was one of the reasons for the AVCHD archive feature when connecting a video camera. I don't have a AVCHD camcorder so I'm unsure. Have you tried adding the videos to Toast with the camcorder connected?
