Tv Colour Problem

When I use my Roxio Game Capture HD Pro, the colours on my TV come out wrong while the recorded videos are (mostly) just fine. I've used it with two different TVs and the same thing has happened, is there any reason this is happening?

 

If it's important, I should note that there is no problem when the console is directly plugged in the TV, this only happens with this capture device.

I would suggest that you try connecting to another Component device or TV/Monitor to see what happens.

I have found the source of the problem. It seems the component cable that came with the Roxio Game Capture (the standard one, not the HD Pro) was faulty. It's a shame the HD Pro one didn't come with it's own cable but I guess I'll just have to put up with this until I get a replacement.

I don't have any component devices other than my PS2 and PS3. Everything else is either SCART or HDMI.

Try changing the input source to the Roxio Capture card as suggested in post's 10 & 13.

Yes, I do get a picture so I can see what I'm doing, it's just the colours are off.

 

I say mostly fine because the quality isn't quite perfect as you can see in this screencap.

 

Edit: The ghosting in that screencap seem to be a problem with the cable itself according to Amazon reviews.

As a test, try hooking up a DVD player/camcorder (using component connections) to the game capture and see if if that works

 

Do you get a picture on the TV, its just the colors are wacky?.

 

Also, you say ( recorded videos are (mostly) just fine)....could you give us some more information please.

When I plug either my PS3 or PS2 directly into the TV, the colours show up just fine. The same happens on my other TV, so I don't see an issue with that cable.

I had to install it on a different PC from before so it never had the non-HD software on it. With the old one, I just used the preview screen to see the game simply because I could.

Did you uninstall the non-HD program, before you installed the HD one?.

 

Did the old version work ok?.

I have them plugged in in the correct places, I've doubled checked and everything. So unless if there is a problem with the cables that came with the non-HD Roxio capture device I had before, I don't think that's it.

Please explain what " colour modes on the TV" are?.

 

Also, the Red/Green/Blue component cable are in the correct jacks, (many users on here have had them reversed.).

I'm not sure what else to say really, I'm using component cables to plug in the PS3 and another set to plug the RGC into the TV. None of the colour modes on the TV make a difference while the preview and recorded footage are (mostly) fine.

So..... you have a component cable connected from your PS3 to the RGC unit....that's a start..............!!!!!!!!

I forgot to mention, I'm using the component cable as I can't use HDMI to record a PS3.
