Cant Activate Easy Cd&dvd Burning Red Box

I did a recovey on my windows 8 last night tonight I tried to reinstall my easy cd&dvd burning red box and it says product not activated,so I did the copy and paste from my roxio account and tried that and got the same messege .I know mine is for win 7,xp,vista but this did work on my windows 8 home.how can i get this to install again

Are the two purchases of the product exactly the same - the one that you used for home and one for this other W8 computer?

no this is the same one i got about a year or 2 ago. I got a new computer back in February the other computer fried out

You already know this - W8 compatibility. Many times a program will work for a short time and then crap out.

 

Why did you have to do a recovery? And why did you have to reinstall the program. It should have been there. If you did a recovery, the product should already been installed and activated..

 

It seems like we are not getting the full story. A little more about what happened and what you are trying to do would be most helpful if you are serious about help. If not, you can contact support and provide them with the information and the cash.

I had some driver problems and couldnt fix them with system restore.so i had to use HP recovery program to get my drivers fixed. It wiped out my programs antivirus , firefox and what not including roxio.it kept all my settings the way i had it but just removed programs

But all of this aside, the Activation issue is odd since it worked before...

Well folks,I went and got a new easy cd&dvd burning red box at walmart on sale. One that is made for Win8 installation and registering went good. Maybe something rose the flag thinking I was installing on more than one computer which was not the case. I was happy it didnt install a bunch of stuff like DIVX and other things I didnt need which left alot of icons and stuff. well thanks folks for trying to help. I guess you can mark this post solved

Hi just joined and have the same Product not activated problem. A few observations !. the product was scanned and it shows up on the receipt from Wal-Mart, 2. It does not say nor do you need a internet connection to install it once. How is the disc going to know you did in fact buy it? I would appear to me it is an install once type of deal. I try to install again second time with the internet connected and disconnected same results. I will try taking it back to Wal-Mart but that does not work normally Again it does not say internet connection require for installation, so it is a install once, but then how does the disc know you have installed once? Something about this is wrong.

There is NO Limit to the number of times it is istalled!

 

But 'Scanning at Checkout' does not mean that it went from the cash register, to their computer, which in turn connected to Roxio Servers and Activated the product

 

The "internet" requirement is simply not spelled out clearly but more loosely implied

 

 

NONE of us here think this is a great plan but we are stuck with...

 

You will have to take it back and get them to scan it again or exchange it for another and hope that one makes all the connections needed to activate.
