Problem With Videowave

So I have been doing tests with the VideoWave they give you along with the Roxio Game Capture HD Pro.

 

Everytime I record something using the capture card the program fails and crashes completely. I tried editing videos I captured with Fraps and program rarely falls. I have good enough computer to run the program. I can play a game and render without any lag if I wanted to so that is not the issue.

 

I found the solutions which is not changeable sadly. Format you get with the capture card is m2ts which doesn't seme to be supported on VideoWave and it is the only format this capture card gives. I tried looking on Roxio FAQ but says there only m2ts. But their tutorial videos they record on mp4 which is kinda strange?

 

So this is kinda like feedback that the program needs to be able to support the format capture card does. Seriously.

 

Format I tried with VideoWave.

 

m2ts - crashes

 

WMV - no crashing

 

AVI - rare crashing

 

MP4 - rare crashing

 

 

P.S I have been on result of rendering the video out with different format to be able to edit it, takes more time but only method that works.

You have had it for a year and you just now had this issue?

 

Your "results" are completely bogus, no one else has these issues.

 

You had issue back in December 2012 with your laptop. HOW did you get that resolved?

 

What are you running on and what are the spec?

 

To give you a better starting point, I would suggest a more extensive repair, using these steps:

 

Unplug your RGC Device and put it aside until you are completely finished.

 

Download and install the

Revo

Uninstaller. Then run it in

Moderate Mode

to remove any traces of Roxio.

 

Then turn off your Anti Virus, Firewalls, Registry Cleaners, etc.

 

Now insert your Roxio Disc.

 

Be sure you accept the offer to Check for Updates (this is for Roxio, not Windows)

 

When the Install competes, turn your AV & Firewall back on and reboot.

You must have made a mistake here. I bought Roxio Game Capture HD Pro in 2013 and I never used these with a laptop.

 

Been using deskopt. And no, repair, reinstal does not work. And I searched around other people DID infact have this similiar issue that Videowave crashes.

Yes I did make a mistake on the date Sorry!

 

You did not indicate that you actually followed my Steps to do the repair, too many people take the easy way then claim they did it and it didn't work

 

In VideoWave, go to Tools - Options - Render and set it to Software.

 

Reboot

 

Since it is a laptop, make sure it is Not running on battery and on a hard flat surface so it gets the best cooling it can.

I have tried those easy ways to fix which haven't worked. And it is a deskopt as on earlier post I said never used these with a laptop.

 

I will try to set it on software mode and see what happens.

Sorry for a very late respond. Turning render system to software from hardware did help a little. It still likes to crash with the m2ts files. But not after every split ( cut ) or trying to use any color correction etc.

It may just be your laptop... Repeat the steps in Post #2.

I am not using a laptop. Using a deskopt.

 

My PC ( deskopt ) meets the requiments easily. HP Envy h8-1511eo.

 

Specs:

 

Prosessor: Intel ® Core™ i7-3770 CPU @ 3.40GHz

RAM: 8GB

Graphics: NVidia GeForce GTX 660

Windows 8, 64 bit.

VideoWave has been around since 2004 with millions of users worldwide.

 

Sometimes it does crash...

Sometimes it is hard to determine the reason...

It has never been something inherent to the application itself...

 

At a glance your PC is certainly up to the task in stock configuration.

 

But most gamers don't leave things in 'stock configuration' and that is usually when the trouble starts

Adding programs to "improve" performance

Overclocking or tweaking the CPU and GPU settings

 

In short, the 'cause' is usually very close to the mouse

But other files doesn't so easily.

 

Everytime I record, edit. I close everything else. Skype, browser, any media players. Because I wanna do these things in peace.

There is something in your system interfering.

I have a much lower powered system and have no problems with the m2ts files
