Can The Vhs To Dvr 3 Work With A Dish Hopper?

I installed the software and hooked up the usb device to my XP Home computer with 3MB of RAM/ When I start the software and select either of the options, I get a few seconds of sound and then no sound and a green screen. Am I doing something wrong or does this configuration not work. I have a 2nd Hopper that is connected to a Toshiba DVDR and I have no problem making dvd's from the Hopper using the composite outs.

Here's what I have determined. There is a problem when video is connected. I have connected the device to a cable box and a bluray player. Same thing happens on all three devices. When red/white audio cable are connected, I get sound through the device. As soon as I connect yellow video, the sound lasts a few seconds and goes out and the video screen turns green.

Well, that didn't help. Uninstalled the software. Rebooted and then reinstalled without the usb device hooked up. Once reboot, I plugged in the usb device and started it. Same thing. If the yellow video plug is not attached, the sound works. As soon as I attach video, everything stops.

Will be returning it to Staples tomorrow.

Just a comment about the install process. I believe that the original drivers that were installed - the wrong ones need to be uninstalled by removing them using Windows Device Manager. You have to have the device plugged in so your can see the entries. Remove them, and the device and then rebot with the device not plugged in. and then and removed. Once the drivers are removed, you can run the reinstall. Jim has a pretty good write up of the process if that is not what you have not dome..
