Do I Need A Splitter? (Split)

My TV is a Samsung [LN46A650A1FXZA Ver SS04] Plugging in directly It says Mode Not supported. Will updating the firmware Help? Also getting a No signal from my ONKYO TX-NR906. I wanted to have a system flow of from 360 to RGCPRO to ONKYO to TV. It does work with my Samsung [XL2370HD LS23ELNKF/ZA] but this is my secondary monitor and there are white pixels all over the picture. So it seams that the splitter should work for me too, any recommendations?
