Other than my 1998 Ricoh 2X burner, I have never had any need to burn at a speed other than max… Of course I do not distribute my work to too many others, so compatibility has not been a problem.

I know of no way to set the burning speed and retain it.

You can set the Record Methods to "Disc-at-Once" or "Track-at-Once – Finalize Disc" then click the Set As Default button.

Can't save the burn speed as a default? OK, I can live w/ that.

BUT - I looked for a "Set As Default" button but do not see one!!!

I thought the interface was changed in V 7 from "Disc-at-Once" or "Track-at-Once – Finalize Disc" to, Read only disc (cannot add data at a later time) Checking this box closes the disc.

Whatever the wording... I cannot see a way to save any desired changes to the default burn settings.

I haven't either just check the box, if that is a problem there is other

burning software! The program is wrote to allow both session and read only disc's. That was a problem in V6 and was fixed in V7.

Guess I should have inquired about the Version???

Don't recall when it was added but V7.5 has a Set As Default button, as shown below.

I am thinking it was in the 7.1.1.189 too, but could be wrong.

It's there in my copy of 7.1.1.189 on the Project Settings window same as what you posted James. Maybe the OP keeps looking at the Burn Progess settings window expecting it to be there, which it isn't
