Disc Not Recognized - Split From Hijacked Thread

TimboGee

Question

I have a new HP Envy laptop with an I7 processor, 16gb ram, Windows 8. Roxio NXT Pro 2 just purchased. I have the same problem with MyDVD not recognizing a disk when it is in the blue ray burner. I have tried Memorex DVD-R and Memorex BD-R. The burner is a HP BD MLT UJ262 1.00 Windows recognizes the drive and I can write files to it from Windows Explorer.

Suggestions? This seems to point to the Roxio software.

That sometimes happens with the product and no one knows why. Roxio seems to be unable to fix it (for whatever reason). Instead of burning to a disc, create a folder set and then burn that to a disc using the Video Copy and Convert program (copy part of the program)

??? Your Project indicates if is of DVD size (right picture 4021 mb)...

IF it is a DVD Project it cannot be burned onto a BD-R disc  That will throw the invalid disc error...

(it could be done, but you have to change it to a BD project first)

Try what Steve suggested, it is a good test!

Forgive me if I'm jumping in where I don't belong, but based on my horrific read/write problems with NXT running on a Windows 7 computer I feel compelled to point you to the Topic

Maybe you will find something relevant there. Again, I apologize if I am out of line.
