Windows 8-64, Mydvd Says No Disc Inserted

Reports have been received where in 64-bit Windows 8 systems running Roxio NXT, while users could burn data or audio discs, MyDVD was reporting that the burner drive was empty and so would not burn to the disc which had been inserted. The program was failing to recognize that a disc was inserted.

User MoreOfMe persisted with this, and got a reply from Roxio Support saying that the problem is known but not yet solved, and suggesting a workaround.

The workaround for this problem if you're experiencing it, is not to try burning to disc from MyDVD.

Instead you should use MyDVD to 'burn' to a disc image, and then use NXT to Burn Image to Disc.

It's two steps instead of one, but it will get your job done if MyDVD can't see the destination disc.

Thanks for your help, Jack.
