Saving Photos I Full Size

I am not at all semi-professional :) , but I like to take good Photos and sometimes I am doing cropping. When I had been cropping a Photo my print is less good if the file size has been reduces - especially if I print the photos in a large format. I guess keeping the solution is more important than keeping the filesize. I tried to save a Photo using different options, but the size is still reduced to about 15% of the original Photo. I agree that I dont need them so large for normal size printing and viewing on a computer.

I see what you mean...

Even if you select jpg, full quality the saved file comes out smaller than the source. And it cannot be smaller unless some compression (loss) was used

I use Corel's Paint Shop Pro and when you tell it lossless, you get lossless!

It is not the only editor out there, I think PhotoSuite is good for what it was intended and I often pull it up for the Batch Resize :P

cam anybody help .... when I save Photos there size is reduced pretty much and I want to keep til full size - what to do?

Use the ones on your computer ! Seriously, the program makes a video from your images so the images are reduced to 720 by 480 lines per inch. (old style TV size). Why do you want to save the full size images in that program. You would be better off using a cloud site. Most free cloud sites give you plenty of space. Your friends can get to them if you give them the permission.

I think you are right and PhotoSuite is intended to something different than I thought. Maybe it is of good use for the vidoes ..othervise it is a total mistake that I bought it :(

In fact I did some research before I purchased Roxio Creator NXT 2, and I found nowhere anything about the reduction.

Corel's Paint Shop Pro is maybe the right program for me.

I greatly appreciate your efforts to help me!

Size was not always a problem with the good PhotoSuite program that Roxio had in years past. Now, it appears that the functions of many of the programs, in the suites, have been reduced or totally eliminated. Sad, really. :(

Not much info to work with.

What do you mean by size? The file size or the dimension or what? What option setting did you use when saving the edited file. You have to supply some more details on exactly what you are doing for anybody to be able to help you.

I hope to keep the size of the photo (file) when I save a photo after I have edit the photo using the Roxio Creator nxt 2. E.g. the photo (file) is 10 GB when it comes from my camera, and I want the photo (file) to have the same size after I have edit it and saved it. Sorry my english.

I use the default setting when saving the edited file. My problem is to find our how to change the setting to keep the original size of the file when saving the edited photo. Thanks for your patience :)

Please explain exactly what you are doing and what program from Creator NXt you are using. Your file size has to change after you do any edits - it is impossible to keep the same file size.

I have copied the pictures from my camera to the hard disc on my desktop. The photos often have a size between 3 and 10 MB.

I Start Roxio Creator NXT 2

Select Photo

Select Edith Photos (Photosuite now opens)

File – Open and select a photo, which for example has a size on 5.94 MB

I fix my photo.

I save the photo and now the file unfortunately only has the size 875 MB.

I need the picture to has a size about 5.5 – 6 MB. This means, that at the time being the photosuite is of no use for me.

Hope you can help me with information how to change setting, so I keep the size of the file as mentioned above.

Are you keeping the same format? Right click on one of the photos and look at the details. Tell us what format the pictures are. Most image editing programs have problems opening RAW format pictures.

Many cameras take photos in a RAW format. My Nikon takes pictures in the RAW format called NEF. Raw formats are uncompressed. Most computers and image editing programs output as jpg or png files which are compressed.

After you do your editing, what format are you saving the pictures in?

it says: Interlacing: No Photo quality 100 and write: Photo quality effects file size. A higher quality value result in larger file size. Whereas a lower quality value results in smaller file size. there is no mark i "Set as default options for til file type". I have not been doing any Things here.

Are you talking full size or full resolution? They are different.

What are you going to do with the photos? Are you doing any cropping? Unless you are going to print the photos in a large format then you don't need them so large for normal size printing and viewing on a computer. If you are doing anything semi-professional then this program is not the one to use.

There is another option for photo size. Did you do anything there?
