Can I Split Sound And Video Output From Capture Card

panfah

Question

Hi,

I own a PS3. In my current set up I use the HDMI port on the back of the PS3 to connect to the screen and use the AV Port to connect to my sound system (the screen is a Samsung monitor and while the picture is good the sounds not great.) I'm interested in buying a Roxio Game Capture HD Pro. My understanding is that I will need to use the AV Port on the PS3 to connect component cables to the capture card. For the output from the capture card will I be able use the component output to send the sound to the speakers in parallel with using the HDMI output to send video to the screen? Does anyone know whether this configuration will work or can suggest an alternative?

Thanks in advance

I got to revisit this today and found that to be in error...

You CAN have Component Input and HDMI output as long as you use the "HDMI Output" marked jack on the RGC...

It will not work if you you the HDMI jack marked "HDMI Input"!!!

Here are a couple of pictures I snapped (before my battery failed) ;)
