0 Jim_Hardin
no! You need to do a Proper Repair: First thing to do is to turn off your Anti Virus, Firewalls, Registry Cleaners, etc. Unplug your Roxio Capture Device and put it aside until you are completely finished. Now insert your Roxio Disc. Be sure you accept the offer to Check for Updates (this is for Roxio, not Windows) When you reach the screen where Repair is offered, choose that! When the Repair competes, turn your AV & Firewall back on and reboot.
0 bridgebird
It's asking me if I want to reinstall and deleting what I already have on there. Am I suppose to do that first. Nothing about repair comes on like you said. Talks about reinstalling when I insert the Roxio disc
0 bridgebird
I did the reinstall as that's all that it asked me to do when I inserted the disc. Nothing about an update or repair ever came on the screen. I also unplugged the capure device like you said and turn off all the virus stuff. It still says the same error. 0 Jim_Hardin
If it didn't ask about 'Repair', then you did not follow the instructions I listed... The only way it would not offer Repair is if you Uninstalled the Program, which was not on the list I will offer a more extensive process but you Must Follow the steps and not set off on your own. Unplug your Roxio Capture Device and put it aside until you are completely finished. Download and install the Revo Uninstaller. Then run it in Moderate Mode to remove any traces of Roxio. Create a New User Account with Administrator Privileges. Turn OFF any A/V & Firewall. Reboot and log on to that new account. Copy your entire disc to a new folder on your HDD. In that new folder, right click on Setup.exe and select Properties. Under the Compatibility tab, make sure nothing is checked! Right click Setup.exe and select Open. Allow it to Check for Updates (this is for Roxio not Windows) Use the Default Locations!
