Dvd Burn (Blurry)

tinkerbell217

Question

I had to purchase a new computer with Windows 8: 64-bit. I was not able to transfer the Roxio PhotoShow 5 Deluxe~not sure why. So, I just purchased PhotoShow 6 Premium Service. (I could not download PhotoShow 5 again from My Account.) I have no problems with making a photoshow or burning a dvd. However, when I played the dvd, the photoshow was really blurry. I used a Sony CD-R 700mb. The same cds I used previously and never had a problem. Could not find any solutions. Hope you can help. It

Although you are starting with a high definition source, you are burning to a standard definition disc. If you burn to a DVD, the format is mpg2 and definition will be that of a standard TV - 720 by 480.

Now you say you are burning to a CD that would be mpg1 probably about 352x240, While it would look OK on a small TV or display, it would look terrible on a larger screen high definition TV.

Those are industry standards; there is nothing wrong with the program.

I challenge you to get out some of the old cd and have someone else look at those old Photo Shows to see if they are different (less blurry) than the new ones.

Thanks for the info and your time. Good idea about your challenge. Haven't had a chance to have someone else look at the old cd shows but I did look at them on my new pc. I was a little worried that they might be blurry but they were not. I know very little about cd/dvds. I have a Sony dvd-r disc. Just tried it and the photoshow is no longer blurry. While looking up something else, I read the Roxio info and there it was~~burn a dvd. DUH!
