No Video Signal When Trying To Use Easy Vhs To Dvd Plus

JVZ

Question

I purchased Roxio Easy VHS to DVD 3 Plus and successfully installed the software. The driver for device was successfully installed by Windows. I have plugged in my VCR and while playing a tape I get "No Video Signal". I have plugged the VCR into the TV and it displays correctly. I am running Windows 7.

You posted in the wrong forum, I will move it!

The driver for device was successfully installed by Windows.

That is probably your problem. Did you plugin the device before the software was installed?

Plugin the device, open device manager and expand Sound Video and Game Controllers. Post a screen shot of it.

I don't see cd online at the moment...

What you need to do is Delete the 'Roxio Video Capture USB' entry in the Device Manager.

Then perform these steps:

Unplug your RGC Device and put it aside until you are completely finished.

Reboot

Turn off your Anti Virus, Firewalls, Registry Cleaners, etc.

Now insert your Roxio Disc.

Be sure you accept the offer to Check for Updates (this is for Roxio, not Windows)

When you reach the screen where
Repair
is offered, choose that!

When the Repair competes, turn your AV & Firewall back on and reboot.

That will properly install the needed drivers and your Device Manager will look like the one cd showed ;)

I updated the device driver for the Roxio device that was listed under Other Devices and it installed it and now I have two entries for Roxio under Sound, video and game controllers. Now the video is being picked up in the software. Thanks for pointing out the other driver that was hiding in Other Devices!

I have the same problem of the program not being getting a video signal. I didn't insert the USB device until after I installed the software. When I went to my Device Manager there were NO unknown USB devices listed, just the Roxio ones under Sound, Video and Game controllers. I will include a screen shot of the DM. I have removed the plugged in device, deleted the devices in Device Manager and followed all your other instructions above but I still don't get a video signal. I have splitter RCA cables so I have the VCR video going both to the TV and the Roxio USB device so I am sure some video/audio signal is getting to the USB device but the software/my computer is not recognizing it. This is the second time a video capture equipment/software has not been able to work for me. I just returned Video 2 PC after trying everything to make that work. Can you help me, please? I realize that the day before Thanksgiving Day is not the best time to ask for help but I'm hoping for a response after the weekend. Have a Happy Thanksgiving!

How about hooking it up this way!

icon-step-one.jpg

Step 1: Connect VHS player or camcorder via RCA out to the included USB capture device.*

icon-step-two.jpg

Step 2: Connect the capture device to your PC's USB port.

Step 3: Capture and transfer movies to DVD, iPhone®, iPad®, Android tablet, post to Facebook™ or YouTube®.

Just purchased Roxio VHS to DVD 3 Plus from retailer. Have Windows 7. Installed Software from supplied DVD. Conneted usb (from roxio & VHS) and have message "No Video Signal"

Device Driver shows two "Roxio Video Driver USB" entries under Sound.....Controllers. Tried uninstalling drivers, running "Repair" from Roxio Disc, with no change- "No Video Signal" . VHS is outputting signal because TV shows the running video. Also tried connecting DVD player with same "No Signal" result. Very frustrating ...

I was recommended to try these steps

1. Uninstall the software.

-Go to Start > Settings > System > Apps & Features > Roxio Easy VHS to DVD > Uninstall

2. After uninstalling, reboot your computer, and then configure Windows to show hidden files and folders. If you need instructions on how to do this, please refer to this link below:

http://www.isunshare.com/windows-10/show-hidden-files-and-folders-in-windows-10.html

Once you have hidden files and folders showing, please proceed with these steps:

2.1. Go to " C:\Users\*your username*\AppData\Local\";

2.2. Locate any or all of these folders:

- "Rovi_Corporation”;

- “Corel_Corporation”;

- “Roxio”;

- “Roxio Log Files”;

- “Sonic”;

- “Simple Star”;

2.3. Rename(I deleted them) these folders by adding a “.old” at the end of their names. For instance, "Rovi_Corporation" to "Rovi_Corporation.old";

2.4. Go to "C:\Users\*_yourusername_*\AppData\Roaming\" and check to see if you find the same folders above, and rename them the same way;

2.5. Go to “C:\Program Files\Common Files” or “C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files” and look for the following folders; rename them the same way:

- PX Storage Engine;

- Roxio Shared;

- Sonic Shared.

2.6. Go to "C:\Program Data\" and delete the following folders:

- Roxio

- Sonic

- FLEXnet

3. Clean your Windows temporary files.

• To delete the Windows Temporary Files, please follow these steps:

a) On your keyboard, press and hold the "Windows Logo" and the "R" keys to launch the "Run" dialog box.

b) On the "Run" box, type: %temp%

c) Click "OK" or press "Enter" to open the Temp directory folder window.

d) On your keyboard, press and hold the "Ctrl" and the "A" keys to Select All of the files.

e) Press the "Delete" key and then click "Yes" on the message asking if you are sure to move the selected items (files) to the Recycle Bin.

f) Skip all files that cannot be deleted (there are usually about 3 to 5 temp files in use by Windows at any given time which cannot be deleted).

g) Close the Temp directory folder window.

• To delete the Temporary Internet Files, please follow these steps:

a) Press and hold the "Windows Logo" and the "R" keys to launch the "Run" dialog box.

b) On the "Run" box, type: inetcpl.cpl

c) Click "OK" or press "Enter" to launch the Internet Properties dialog box.

d) Click the "General" tab and under "Browsing history", click "Delete".

e) On the "Delete Browsing History" dialog box, put a check on the box for "Temporary Internet files and website files" then click "Delete".

f) Click "Apply" and click "OK".

4. Restart your PC.

5. Temporarily disable your antivirus.

Note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you shouldn't disable your antivirus software. If you have to temporarily disable it to install other software, you should re-enable it as soon as you're done. If you're connected to the Internet or a network while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

6. Reinstall Easy VHS to DVD 3 Plus.

point is solved my problem of no display, yet I could record a video just fine

thank you for your help

I have the same problem.

I tried what Jim Hardin has posted.

But still the same

A week ago I bought an I7 8th generation gaming computer only for video capture and editing for transfering VHS tapes to dvd; the only program on this computer is Roxio Easy VHS to DVD 3 Plus.

If you followed the late Jim Hardins instructions it should have worked!

Post a screenshot of your device manager with the Roxio USB Deice plugged in like this.

Hello

I did read this subject.  I have problem with NO SIGNAL VIDEO

I did check.  My drivers are ROXIO driver and not Windows Drivers.

I followed the instructions described by Jim_Hardin to repair the drivers so that they are those of Roxio.

But it doesn't work anymore.

Please help me to continue solving the problem.

Sorry for my english, I speak french
