Recording Wont Last Over 1 Second!? Help!

Flameraven2

Question

As the title says i cant record any footage past a second, I click record the screen goes black and the file gets written for a single second and it still says i'm capturing. I've changed the resolution around to see if it would work and it wouldn't, I've also tried searching for an answer on the forums for a while but it seems like i'm the only person with this problem. I'm trying to record an Xbox 360 if it matters what console i'm using, please respond fast! Thanks!

i have your solution brother. I had to go to the RGC file in my program files go inside and delete everything. But one file is always running named "RoxmediaDBgame 1x" so you have to go to task manager (crtl + alt + delete) and stop the program from running. After that empty your recycling bin. After run the roxio uninstaller. Then just re install.

This is not a solution but in fact bad advice. Simply deleting programs does not properly uninstall a program but will usually corrupt your system.

ohk, so it's been a while since i've tried to fix the problem, because i've been looking around for a solution/doing other things. i've gotten the roxio program to give me a blue screen, but it still does not say i have a signal (red) i got this to happen by moving the quality slider. although it has changed from hdmi to component automatically even though i've only been using the hdmi! i'm starting to think that the device itself is broken and wondering if it would be too late to get a replacement, thank you.

Edit: i've tried switching it to HDMI in the program but it crashes everytime

Let's bump the repair up to Level 3 (Final) and see if that doesn't do the trick ;)

Unplug your RGC Device and put it aside until you are completely finished.

Download and install the
Uninstaller. Then run it in
Moderate Mode
to remove any traces of Roxio.

Create a New User Account with Administrator Privileges.

Turn OFF any A/V & Firewall.

Reboot and log on to that new account.

Copy your entire disc to a new folder on your HDD.

In that new folder, right click on Setup.exe and select Properties.

Under the Compatibility tab, make sure
nothing
is checked!

Right click Setup.exe and select Open.

Allow it to Check for Updates (this is for Roxio not Windows)

Use the Default Locations!

Best to start with a proper Repair:

First thing to do is to turn off your Anti Virus, Firewalls, Registry Cleaners, etc.

Unplug your RGC Device and put it aside until you are completely finished.

Now insert your Roxio Disc.

Be sure you accept the offer to Check for Updates (this is for Roxio, not Windows)

When you reach the screen where
Repair
is offered, choose that!

When the Repair competes, turn your AV & Firewall back on and reboot.
