Red "no Signal" Issue

Bingo Fent

Question

Hi guys. Got a Gamecap HD Pro about a week ago, set it up very carefully and exactly as shown in the video (Xbox 360 HDMI). Upon launching the capturing software, I got a black display (same as TV), and the status read "No Signal" in red. Have tried uninstalling (with Revo) and reinstalling, no change. Have taken all the steps in this thread: http://forums.suppor...o-signal-issue/ but no change. Even tried restoring my system to an earlier point in time and reinstalling everything, but still getting the same red "No Signal". I've tried using the "repair" option on the CD, nothing. I've basically done everything I can think of, including contacting Roxio support, and their most viable advice was to come back here.

My TV is definitely set to the correct HDMI input.

My 2 HDMI cables are brand new, and tested. Working perfectly.

I installed the software before plugging the card in to my PC.

My TV, Xbox 360 and PC are all working perfectly.

Computer specs:

Motherboard: ASUS Z87-PRO

Processor: Intel i7 4770

GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 780

OS: Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit

If you guys could possibly help with this (and I know you must get a lot of requests), I'd be very grateful. Cheers.

...and you Did set that Service to Auto as described in that link???

Red 'No Signal' means just what it says ~ Nothing is getting to the RGC Device!

Hook it up to a DVD or BD Player with HDMI (Preferred) or Component to see if you can get anything to change.

Only other option would be to install it on another PC to see if that would work.

"Nothing"??? That means "nothing" to me

Did it do the "Same" thing or something different?

"...I'll be returning it to Amazon today..." - Good thing you didn't buy a car

This is extensive, but it what I suggest...

Unplug your RGC Device and put it aside until you are completely finished.

Download and install the
Uninstaller. Then run it in
Moderate Mode
to remove any traces of Roxio.

Create a New User Account with Administrator Privileges.

Turn OFF any A/V & Firewall.

Reboot and log on to that new account.

Copy your entire disc to a new folder on your HDD.

In that new folder, right click on Setup.exe and select Properties.

Under the Compatibility tab, make sure
nothing
is checked!

Right click Setup.exe and select Open.

Allow it to Check for Updates (this is for Roxio not Windows)

Use the Default Locations!

Ok, did that - it's alive! I've since set the service to automatic. Seems to be capturing just fine, albeit with a 3 second delay, which I presume is normal.

I'm going to go ahead and assume it's ok to turn my AV and Firewall back on. Is there anything else I need to know?

For example, is there a particular order I should be shutting down/switching off my PC, Xbox and TV?

Update - just turned my AV back on and the colour scheme changed to Basic, while the capture window lost about 20% of the screen on the right hand side. Turning AV back off returns the capture to how it should be.

I'm using Microsoft Security Essentials with the latest updates.

(Edit - sorted it by making an exception for Roxio in my AV. I'll say it for you: Duuurrrrr)
