Can't See Video When Capturing From My Sony Camcorder - Split From Unrelated, Hijacked Thread

I have the same problem in that I can't see the video that I am trying to download on my screen. I get a green screen and the little flashing wheel that says, "Downloading, this may take a few minutes" Well it does not download anything either. My SONY videocam has only one Video Out and it has the yellow plug at the end which I plugged into the Roxio device. I have an HP ENVY23 computer with Win 8 and 64 bit processor. I put the tape I want to download into my Vcam and hit play and the red download button and it doesn't do squat. When I bought it at BestBuy they said, "Oh, this is easy and works with your video camera or an VHS recorder/player". Well, I have had it for several months and finally decided that I was going to transfer some old Hi-8 tapes to DVD for my son for Christmas. Well it don't look like it is going to happen and that makes me sad. Any ideas?

What software do you have? You hijacked an unrelated thread in the Easy VHS To DVD 3 Plus forum.

Yes please clear that up as I have never seen any Roxio Product that said anything about "Download"

 

Buttons and functions are usually labeled 'Record', 'Capture' or 'Processing'

 

Add the make and model of your Sony too so we can see if we can find the manual for it.
