After I burn a photo slide show with sound, I can play it on my Dell computer OK, but when I try to play it on my Bose home theatre a prompt comes up stating "format unsupported".I am using 4.7 Gig DVD-R discs

What am I doing wrong.??

You are probably making a data disc with video files and not a video disc. Put the disc in your computer and explore it; what files do you see? You computer will obvious play the files since that is how you made them.

You need to use "Create DVD" in order to properly author the disc. Did you?

Did you use good quality discs? Memorex and store brand discs are not on the list of good or even standard quality discs.

Some expensive DVD player are very careful about what they play. If I read correctly the Bose theater are only speakers and do not include a DVD player. What do you have? Have you tried using a cheaper quality DVD player?
