No Signal To Tv Or Software!

Hazard93

Question

Hey there,

After looking online for help i have found nothing for this, and its really annoying :( i got my Roxio HDPro last week and for some reason i can not get it to work. I have tried many times to uninstall and then reinstall but it still has the same problems. I have made sure all connections are right as i am using HDMI! I have xbox 360 going into the input, then tv into the output, but when i power it up it says no signal on my tv as if the capture card was kind of blocking the image if that makes any sense? i have made sure its not my tv by testing it elsewhere it only when i hook the Roxio up that it does not relay the image to the tv, and as for the software i just get a black screen!

Any help is really appreciated!

Thanks Grant.

Jim two more questions if you do not mind buddy. The HDMI from xbox to roxio brings up ''Signal Protected'' but if i do component its fine, any suggestions?

Also do you know much about the twitch streaming? for some reason i can not get my streams on twitch it will either say offline or will say ''loading video'' and will not pick up the signal.

Thanks again.

Not easy...

When it shows on your TV it tells us the software is working! (the software is Required to make the Pass Through work! ~ doesn't have to be running, just installed on the PC)

The blank preview screen is strictly a PC/Video Card issue!

Possible Solution??? Set Video Card to Single Display Performance Mode:

HERE

Also Windows Media Player 11 must be installed!

Hey jim. Sorry for delay bud been a little rushed of my feet lately. Good news.. I got it to display on my tv now :) when i plug the usb in then it shows n my tv. Still having problems with the preview showing on the software though, it gives me a little blue box on the preview and again "no signal" in red. It also for some strange reason starts making my tv go to a flickering screen. Need any screenshots? Or do you know what it could be?

Thanks grant

Well you can do a screen cap and post it here, like you did before

Red 'No Signal' tells us this:

Your Software and Drivers are installed correctly

The Software is reading the RGC Device OK

NO SIGNAL is being received by the Device

Of course I assume there is no outlaw hookup involving a SCART connection and the HDMI???

Try plugging the HDMI into the Output port on the RGC (it actually does not care)

Try other USB ports on your laptop.

Would you be able to install the Software on another PC to see if it works there?

(not a gift, wife & I went out for a bit, I needed to get my 90 day currency in for rental privileges at that operator - we were after the $100 Hamburger but the airport we went to has closed their restaurant :( )

Just tested DVD, got nothing back, so that means it must be either the Capture Card or software?

maybe...

What color is 'No Signal'?

With a Player and HDMI I would expect to see it with a Red 'Signal Protected' for the Status.

In the same breath, do the Repair proceedure again - it can take 3 tries

Edit: also make sure you don't have any tweaks or enhancements, like overclocking, in both your CPU and your GPU!!!

going to try the DVD test now, one thing thats happening now though is that the software is always saying no signal, its no longer connecting or recognising anything.

Tested component and your right, made no difference

with the DVD you said, do i just hook that up to the input of the roxio? then output to tv?

Hey Jim,

I havent heard a reply yet im just wondering if your still available to help me?

I have a Component cable coming later to go from my xbox to roxio so will try that out, I do not think it will make a difference but wont hurt to try, i need a solution :(

Yes - Yes & Yes!

We are just substituting the DVD Player for your Xbox as a test ;)

Busy ~ but I had a great day!

Component is fine too but I do not think that is the issue...

PC looks up to snuff - make sure you have your Graphics Card/Chip software up to date!

Not worried about your TV, for the moment, want to get the Software working on the PC ;)

2 things to think about at this point... Is your PC actually capable, graphics wise for the RGC???

Press Win-Pause and tell us what it says in the first 2 sections! OR post a screen cap of it, info on how is HERE

Next thing is to hook up the RGC to any other source - a DVD or BD Player even an HDMI from your PC. Players will be 'Protected Signal' but we want to see if you are able to see anything on your screen.

Extra - run the Repair I outlined again as it sometimes takes 2 or 3 tries

Ok followed instructions and it still isnt working, let me explain in a little bit more detail.

Whats happening is when i power up the xbox 360 the screen on my tv changes to 480p for some reason, but then hops to ''No Signal'' and as far as the Roxio capture software goes, it just says no signal, so i turn off xbox then power up again and does nothing, although sometimes it will recognise the xbox and it will show green light saying ''ready'' but will jump to signal protected, vice versa, but i will still have a black screen on the software, and ''No signal'' on my tv. Just to make you aware it is set to the right channel, and i have made sure the HDMI cables are connected properly.

Then it was never installed right!

Do this, step by step:

First thing to do is to turn off your Anti Virus, Firewalls, Registry Cleaners, etc.

Unplug your RGC Device and put it aside until you are completely finished.

Now insert your Roxio Disc.

Be sure you accept the offer to Check for Updates (this is for Roxio, not Windows)

When you reach the screen where
Repair
is offered, choose that!

When the Repair competes, turn your AV & Firewall back on and reboot.
