Select Video Device Failed

I need some help, I have the HD Pro version and it keeps coming with "Select video device failed", "no signal" and "capture device removed". Any help. I have followed the install and set up by the book. Still not working. This is on Xbox One and Xbox 360.

That is a tough one!!!

 

Some not so obvious things to check are using different USB Ports! (NEVER use a Hub!)

 

Then try this repair procedure - follow it!!! add nothing ~ skip nothing

 

Unplug your RGC Device and put it aside until you are completely finished.

 

Download and install the

Revo

Uninstaller. Then run it in

Moderate Mode

to remove any traces of Roxio.

 

Then turn off your Anti Virus, Firewalls, Registry Cleaners, etc.

 

Now insert your Roxio Disc.

 

Be sure you accept the offer to Check for Updates (this is for Roxio, not Windows)

 

When the Install competes, turn your AV & Firewall back on and reboot.

Sorry about the long wait for reply.

 

I have done the re-installation as you said and nothing. It still comes up with the same error messages. I am not using any USB Hubs and have tries in the two ports that I have on my laptop in range of the device.

My specs for the laptop are

 

IntelCore i7 2.2GHz

NVIDIA GeForce GT 540M

8 GB DDR3 Memory (7.85 usable)

Try it again, I have heard of it taking up to 3 tries

 

Make sure you don't have any tweaks or overclocking applied to your CPU or your GPU!

 

You never mentioned what color the 'No Signal' was??? (important!)

 

Has it ever worked on your laptop?

 

Can you try it with a Desktop?

 

Tell you up front ~ it cannot capture from an Xbox One or a PS4 without a lot of extra work! Stick to the 360 or even a DVD or BD Player for now till we get you running

I have the same problem, only I have my "Status" as a red "Capture Device", but the rest is the same. I have had this ever since I got my HD Pro. Should I just repeat the steps you suggested above?
