FORBIDENxKROSS

Question

Hello,

I have a Roxio GameCap HD Pro that I got for Christmas. I understand that many people were having a problem using the software on Windows 8 but so far to my knowledge I under stand that the Windows 8 problems were fixed and I was using the product with great results and no problems at first.

I am using an Xbox 360, I am setup using HDMI cables, and I have a Gateway Laptop running Windows 8. This is not the problem since it was working with this setup.

My problem is a blank, purple preview window using the recording software. Like I said above the software was working and has now stopped. I can record videos still but I have no preview so I don't know if everything is the way I want it or if I need to adjust anything like the quality or the brightness. I still hear game sound coming from the software just no video preview.

When this problem first occurred I noticed that my input changed from HDMI to component and when I set it back to HDMI it was working until I pressed Start Capture. After that it kept happening so I changed the input from HDMI to component and back to HDMI and that worked for a little while but now that doesn't even work. I tried uninstalling and re-installing the software but that did nothing.

Does anyone have a solution? If anyone needs any other information that I did not already provide please say so and I will fill you in on the missing details.

... to the best of my knowledge, that is an issue with your Video Chip - Drivers or Software...

Make sure you have the Latest & Greatest

Also, as sometimes the newest breaks things, you could try an older version to see it that makes any difference

Please keep us updated on your saga.

Edit: I noticed in another posting that you have Disabled your Graphic Card during Capture???

The only thing that I can think of, he has an onboard video chip, and a dedicated graphics card, in his laptop, and he is disabling the onboard video chip, and using the dedicated video card, when using the software.

At any rate, his post, in the other thread, would make no sense, unless the OP of that thread, has the same setup and assumes what he was telling him to do.

Yes, I disabled my graphics and I got the preview screen working again however, when I do so it distorts the video so I tried recording something and enabling my graphics card while I play back the test video I recorded and it appears that it records the distortion. I also tried one of your other solutions from another thread in the meantime Jim, I disabled my firewall and my anti-virus was expired due to a Windows 8.1 problem I was having then I put the disk is and did the Repair option. That got me passed the purple screen but now I have another problem it keeps saying No Signal.
