Fade Out

Hazard93

Question

Hey all and sorry for yet another topic

Ok so i have been searching up about setting up a Fade out at the end of my videos in Videowave, and have found out how, but the reason of this post is to now find out how to select the length of the fade, whats happening is my video has finished, THEN it fades to black, but i want it so that it starts fading before, then by the end of the video it is black?

Any help is always much appreciated, at the moment im having the render the video then put it into Windows Movie Maker to add the fade

In VideoWave, after the fade transition that you have, at the end of the movie, put a blank, black panel. To set the duration of the fade, you should be able to right click on the fade transition, and set the duration.

An overlooked fact that GPB indicated is that a Transition is something that transitions between TWO items

You have to have something to the Left of it AND something to the Right ;)

Another oddity with them, is that transition duration are applied, 1/2 to the Left part and 1/2 to the Right part...

well i have the video to the left then the black panel to the right, but i can not find a way of when i can make the fade begin like 5seconds before my gameplay clip actually finishes

Where did you place the fade transition? You should have the movie, then a fade transition after the movie, then the black panel.

Thats correct, my intro then the gameplay - effect transition - black panel

But what happens is it wont fade out the gameplay where i want it too. It starts to fade when the gameplay has finished which gives it a pretty doll look. I want it to start to fade while the gameplay is still going

If you want the fade to start 5 seconds before the end, you have to have a 10 sec transition between your clip and the black panel. You black panel will also have to be longer then 5 secs.

Exactly how are you setting up your "fade"? Are you using the dissolve transition?

Ahhh i have got it now, wow i feel so stupid

So with me setting the black panel to say 3 seconds for example, that is the max amount of time i can set the transition. so if i want 5 seconds of fade before end of the clip i would have to make black panel 5 seconds aswell :)

Any way of doing fade out on audio aswell? i realise you can do it by clicking volume then fade out option, but it fade way to early? any other way around that?

For a 3 sec panel, the max transition duration is 6 secs.

Yes, the black panel must be at least 5 secs and the transition must be 10 secs.

The 10 sec transition works by "overlapping" the first 5 secs of the right black panel over the last 5 seconds of the left panel.
