Roxio Media Capture Has Stopped Working (Win 8.1)

Before upgrading the operating system worked well without any problems

 

I followed this guide 3 times:

but nothing ... the screening program continues to close

 

 

PC spec:

Operating System: Windows 8.1 64-bit (6.3, Build 9600) (9600.winblue_gdr.131030-1505)

Language: Italian (Regional Setting: Italian)

System Manufacturer: Packard Bell

System Model: imedia S2110

BIOS: P11-A0

Processor: AMD E1-1200 APU with Radeon™ HD Graphics (2 CPUs), ~1.4GHz

Memory RAM: 4096MB RAM

Have you tried running a Repair on Roxio Game Capture yet???

 

First thing to do is to turn off your Anti Virus, Firewalls, Registry Cleaners, etc.

 

Unplug your RGC Device and put it aside until you are completely finished.

 

Now insert your Roxio Disc.

 

Be sure you accept the offer to Check for Updates (this is for Roxio, not Windows)

 

When you reach the screen where

Repair

is offered, choose that!

 

When the Repair competes, turn your AV & Firewall back on and reboot.

So i learned figured out that the RGC doesn't work with 8.1 (more specifically the software) so you'll need to restore your pc back to 8.0 to use the RGC. Simply by searching restore in windows then going through the process.

Yep you're right it's not windows 8.1 because im still having problems. My Roxio is bi polar because the problem always switches around from 1 second record, to no video, to not detected.

Yes I would not say that the CPU is the problem - just something I noticed while looking through your file

 

Along those lines, what is your Windows Experience Index? (Win-Pause)

 

NOW for you issue...

 

This is extensive, but it what I suggest...

 

Unplug your RGC Device and put it aside until you are completely finished.

 

Download and install the

Revo

Uninstaller. Then run it in

Moderate Mode

to remove any traces of Roxio.

 

Create a New User Account with Administrator Privileges.

 

Turn OFF any A/V & Firewall.

 

Reboot and log on to that new account.

 

Copy your entire disc to a new folder on your HDD.

 

In that new folder, right click on Setup.exe and select Properties.

 

Under the Compatibility tab, make sure

nothing

is checked!

 

Right click Setup.exe and select Open.

 

Allow it to Check for Updates (this is for Roxio not Windows)

 

Use the Default Locations!

i Downgrade my OS at Windows 8.0 and now work fine.

 

 

 

if you don't update your software you will have problems in the future with windows 8.1.

Maybe the drivers or the software itself, but something needs to be updated.

Thanks for the info ~ glad you got it running!

 

(I like 8.1 even LESS than 8.0 )
