Dvi-D To Hdmi Would It Work?

Ok hello I have a question about my setup i use a roxio game capture hd pro with my ps3 (using component cables) and i perfer to play on my led moniter as it uses less electricity as a tv and there is lower response time but it doesnt have hdmi anyway of cause i cant use a adapter like this http://www.ebay.com....V-/181010959825 because it has hdcp block on it so i was wondering if this would work http://www.ebay.com/...D-/360831891360 im not really sure about any of this as i just got it 2 weeks ago if you dont understand ill try to explain it in more detail later on.

There a actually Five different DVI standard connections

 

DVI does not carry HDCP so that is not a reason.

 

Short answer is that Yes it MAY work but you have to find the right one

(tv might be the better answer for you)

Im gonna use 24+1 pin which is basically standard dvi d cable and the feason I dont wanna use tv is because I only have a 32" but I wanna use my moniter because its a energy saving led but hopefully the cable works it says in the description on ebay it is hdcp hdtv ps3 xbox compatible and then I sent a message to make sure and he confirmed that so i found a cheaper one same brand and its 5 dollars aus so its worth a try I guess only 5 dollars

Ok ended up getting it from my local cable shop and its gold plated for $20 australian so ill take it home and test it and report back to you

ok i plugged in the cable into my moniter and it kept flashing but nothing was shown do you know why? Jim_Hardin

I feel badly for cases like this, since I grabbed one off the shelf (HDMI to DVI-A) and it worked without any fuss

True haha i want a refund lol I have to wait till monday their closed tomorrow but oh well atm im using my dads 27" to play I found it easier I ended up settig it up all component as I play ps3 thanks for your help if you want view my quality on youtube ImMattsbro anyway bye for now

Yeah haha heat wave is over its been 40ºc all week then it dropped down to 22º its so stupid but live with it.
