Video Content Cannot Fit, Shorten The Video Duration

andib

Question

I have been working with tech support for months trying to get the Roxio program to start.

I tried to burn the video directly to the dvd and couldn't get the "record" button to become active.

I was instructed to get new dvd's to see if that would work.

I decided to try to record to my desktop and export it to the dvd this time. It recorded, is telling me that the duration is too long and to shorten the video. I have shortened it as best I can and am fumbling my way through the instructions but once it was trimmed, it evidently is still to long and will not allow me to export it to the dvd.

Can't I "compress" the video? If not, I'm stuck. The video is 2 hrs 45 mins as trimmed. I can't find a way to save it as this duration either.

As Steve indicated a DL disc holds about 2 hours of HQ DVD Movie. It follows that a 4.7 GB disc then holds about 1 hour.

You need to split your project into 2 and burn to separate discs.

Look through this post, HERE and see what it does for you ;) It was aimed at a discussion of TRIM but you can see how you could use that to eliminate the first or second half of a project to create and burn 2 DVD's.
