Gameplay Very Slow!

MM2

Question

Hello, new here so please bear with me!

Just got my son a GameCap HD Pro for his xbox360 and now connected (the Gamecap is connected via HDMI to the Xbox) to my PC (running a Pentium E2160 1.8Ghz with 4GB Ram , Vista Ultimate 32bit, video card Nvidia GEforce 7300GT), the video response is so slow games are unplayable: are there any settings I'm missing here?

I have left it pretty much as default, changed the "quality" slider to minimum and the resolution to 480 (from HD).

Reason I am asking is because yesterday we have tried my laptop (an old Centrino with 2GB ram) and the game experience was just as bad!

I thought I exceeded the minimum spec for running this!

Any advice appreciated!

Cheers,

M.

Thanks for that, delay it is!

You may very well be right: the issue I have is that I don't have a HDMI port on my kid's TV (yes, it's that old!) so I tried Gamecap HDMI input and component cable output, but found out this is not supported, so I thought "solution=play it in the preview screen when you want to screen capture!" , obviously not the right thing to do.

Again, thank you, hopefully it means I don't have to go out and buy a new PC just for screen capture!

Cheers,

M.

Thank you both: tonight I'll try component in and component out... not sure why I didn't try that!

One more question: if the RGC is off, will it still allow passthrough or does it need to be powered up to allow for signal between xbox and tv?

Cheers,

M.

Well, without even getting into computer specs, I'm guessing what you're calling "slow" is actually "delay". That is, what you see on the preview screen is as fast as the game is going, but it's 2 to 3 seconds behind the "real" action in the game. This is normal. You can't watch the GameCap screen and play the game from that. You need a separate monitor connected as a "passthru" connected to the GameCap device for actual playing.

So, is that what you're referring to, Delay? If so, there is no solution for that, it really takes that much time to convert the video, get it into the PC, and display it on the preview window.

Watch your "live" monitor to play the game.
