Cannot Reinstall Nxt - How About Getting An Install Disc?

TuneSmith05

Question

I purchased this sorry software for download in June...It totally stopped working for no known reason in October, and I spent a full weekend on here trying unsuccessfully to uninstall/reinstall. Now I'm trying again, with no success. Why cant I be sent a disc? (This is really a bad purchase with no support)

I just changed compatibility settings to Windows Vista after I read the document you sent, with the same results. How do I INSTALL the product using Revo uninstaller, which does not show an option for "install". As for the video card, I don't know what you're talking about, and if it matters, only want to use Creator for tunes.

Revo Uninstaller is only for uninstalling. If you also want the "install" option you have to buy "Revo Uninstaller Pro"

What does "only want to use Creator for tunes." mean?

In the document on "compatibility settings" you are referring too, it does NOT say to check it!!!!!!!

Did you make any changes to your computer between the time it worked and not worked - like upgrading your Operating System? Did you save a copy of the download to a disc or other - use that after you have uninstalled the software using revo Uninstaller in the Moderate mode. It has been awhile but did you opt out of paying for a separate disc to be sent?

If you can't reinstall a new disk won't fix that problem. I doubt that a new disc is available because NXT has been superseded by NXT2.

I referred earlier to the old economy - where, when I was at IBM we manufactured, sold, installed and serviced our entire product line. If a product didn't do what it was intended to do, the customer always got a brand new replacement - no questions asked. Today, one product has several fathers and uncles, with fingers pointing every which way. I've been discussing a failed product since October with one of the uncles - a lot of digital gurus. These are the names: Roxio, Corel, Digital River and Sonic. Nobody wants to take ownership of this fiasco. How does Roxio get contacted? Is there anybody to contact? Or, do they invoke their legalese which takes them off the hook for this product after 30 days?

I am still having installation problems. I have not changed anything w/ my OS. I do not have a physical copy of the disc, but 10 chances at downloading. That number is dwindling fast. When I turned off my f-secure Frontier Anti Virus Suite, turned off all firewall and uninstalled my Malwarebytes for the time being. I downloaded Roxio again straight from my order conf. Email. When unzipping almost is over I get this error message:

“Setup has determined that your configuration does not support any of the included products.”

My other Computer Info>

Also I have IE10 browser and running most up to date version of windows media player.

This is what the software says about compatability:

· For data burning and copy, audio capture and editing: Intel 1.6 GHz Pentium 4 Processor or AMD equivalent, 1 GB RAM. For video or photo editing, conversion and playback, Intel Pentium 4 2 GHz processor or AMD equivalent and 2 GB RAM. Multi-core processor highly recommended.

Why do you need to keep downloading? Once downloaded why don;t you simply store it somewhere on your hard drive

I do not see anywhere where you have listed your system specs so I don't know what "My other Computer Info" means.

TuneSmith has had this problem a long time. He has /had been advised to make copies of the downloads and which downloads to install. He missed the opportunity to get a refund - he actually said he was going to and then changed his mind.

He comes back periodically to voice the same complaint but provides very little information. he did have the program running but it stopped for some reason.

He provides very little information. '

TuneSmith please provide this information to show you are serious about getting help. dxdiag evaluation.

Follow the instructions carefully (it is a test to see if can follow directions) - post the text file; DO NOT copy and paste the contents of the file.

If you can't or don't want to post the information, we can close this and the other threads where you did not complete the requests.

There is no opportunity to get a disc at this stage without talking to Roxio/Corel SALES (not tech support).

Should you like to re-download and save the download you can.. Read this please (link)

Should we now close this thread since you will not get a more concise and better answer?

Is Roxio located behind an electronic fortress, can you provide, offline if necessary, a person who will review these pages and pages of dialog. "Roxio/Corel sales" is a little vague. Thanks.

If it is, you are putting it there. Contact them this way (link) Enter your information then select "Download" as the subject then "I would like a cd".

We can't hand hold you, nor as stated before, we cannot get you a disc. You have to get one yourself or buy something else if you are displeased with Roxio/Corel.

Byu the way, it took me about 15 seconds to find this information when I clicked on support at the top of this page.

I hope that I have followed instructions properly. I have attached the requested data. I have never quite known exactly what information to provide to solve this problem to begin with so now I know, and here it is. The downloads were saved on my hard drive until a different forum user suggested that I erase everything to do with Roxio off my computer and start fresh. That is how I knew I only had 10 downloads. There was a download that had to be erased due to a message stating corruption. The latest attempt at installation towards the end of "unzipping" the file stated: "Setup has determined that your configuration does not support an of the included products" I can eliminate all need for support if I just could find out if I really do have a compatibility issue or not. If I do, I will start over with a different product. Thank you to all who have had patience for my dilemma and tried to help me out.

OK - I have done everything you have told me to do, First, you told me to get someone more knowledgeable than myself. Done. I cajoled my daughter to attempt to follow your every published requirement for Roxio re-installation. She did everything to comply, checked and installed Windows downloads, used the Revo uninstaller to remove Roxio, then the downloads again. I saved each download on disc (Creator NXT LC36AXDOR13, and Content LD04AXDOSQA). Each time I attempt to open these files I get this: Zip Damaged file. R13/EMC_140/Data1.cab:Bad CRC Possible cause: file transfer error.

As of this moment I would estimate that I have spent, along with my daughter, over 100 man-hours trying to solve this thing.

I came from the generation where if a product was unfixable, at some point somebody has to make it right. After all, I paid for software that JUST STOPPED WORKING!!!

The title of this thread says HOW ABOUT GETTING AN INSTALL DISC - and the answer this board provided was that NXT is not even being made anymore, that it's been superceded by NXT2. Well, I will accept an install disc for NXT2.

"Setup has determined that your configuration does not support an of the included products"

That message sounds to me like you're actually downloading one of the update files for some (currently unknown to us) version of a Roxio product. And what it's saying is that it can't find the proper installed version to update.

Please let us know the name of the file you've downloaded. I have a suspicion you're not downloading and installing what you think you are.

Time to contact Roxio, directly. Since this is a users forum, none of us can help you on getting a new disc.
